"Beyond ordinary RSS reader and search tool?
    "

by clairejh on June 18, 2008

Pros: I'm a long time RSS reader user, and have tried multiple different programs before. I downloaded eSobi out of curiosity, yet it's now the major RSS aggregator I use for my daily work as a freelance writer.

The cool thing about eSobi is that it integrates everything in one application, that is, the news reader, the search engine, and the organizer.

Computer crash is every user's nightmare, and yes, it's happened to me many times and destroyed all my work (well I understand the importance of backup, but sometimes people forget!). Anyway, after using eSobi, I no longer have to open a ton of applications while switching between them to get the job done. Then of course, less chance for computer getting irritated. Not only this, eSobi's Document Clipping is like a built-in data organizer, and I can save Internet info plus whole html pages with one simple click while reading and searching online within eSobi. There?s no need to create and sort through tons of folders on Windows just to categorize files or find something needed. The beauty of eSobi is to get things taken care of so efficiently and quickly without dealing with computer problems. It?s indeed given me more spare time to spend with my family.

Moreover, the "Channel Watch" feature in eSobi RSS Reader is such a blast. It's especially useful when planning trips, finding writing materials, or tracking the latest news of my own interest. Again, another smart way of saving time. No more mess when looking for the right information from thousands and thousands of updated-in-every-minute RSS news. Don?t get me wrong, I love new information and new ideas, I like to stay current and aware of what?s happening around me. However, I only have 24 hrs a day like everybody else, and it is really impossible to cover and digest everything. That?s why Channel Watch comes handy. It automatically collects the news of the topics specified, so news of my priority is sorted clearly, which is absolutely the best tool for me considering my tight schedule sometimes.

Last but not the least, the ?Keyword Proposition? feature. This it something you need to spend a bit more time figuring out how it could enhance your searching experience. I was very impressed by the way it refines the search results and neatly layouts the common terms appearing in my findings. What?s it for? You may ask. Well, imagining you are seeking an unfamiliar term with normal search engines. How can you know what it is really about? Fortunately, Keyword Proposition lists those that come up most frequently, giving you an idea about what might be the target and what the relevance is. Furthermore, when the search results appear too overwhelming to handle, Keyword Proposition can help narrow down to the most specific information for you.

eSobi is all about improving daily workflow by providing a more efficient way to manage Internet information. If you are a heavy Internet user like me or simply want to enjoy the online world without precious time wasted on aimless searching, you definitely have to give eSobi a try!

    Cons: Cons:

I hope they will launch eSobi MAC OS version sometime soon, but I?ll continue using it with Boot Camp.

"Great tool no matter you are new to or familiar with RSS!"

by andafly on June 17, 2008

Pros: Well, before eSobi, the only RSS-relevant thing I could have thought of is iGoogle. I never thought I would need something like this. However after I started using eSobi and got used to its functions, I now use it to catch up local/world news and do personal article categorization on a daily basis. The easy-to-use interface makes me willing to use it as much as possible, and by doing so, I truly stay updated with news around the world...eSobi actually influences me on the way of acquiring information, which is so great for me, a journalism major!

Cons: Well, I just need to figure out if it can do the same thing as iGoogle that allows me to subscribe Garfield cartoons.

"Easy and convenient to use everyday."

    by Anderson1014 on October 22, 2008

Pros: Works well with Vista. Nicely integrated interface. Nice filtering tools to get news and information without trouble. Pretty personalized...

Cons: more recommended default RSS channels would be nice...for lazy people like me. But esobi club kind of makes RSS subscription easier so it's ok at this point

Summary: If you need an integrated software that can save you lots of time online looking for stuff, eSobi is the way to go. The 3-in-1 tools make things a lot simpler..as you can get things done in one interface. No more switch between windows. read more
