Pros: GUI is nice. The apps are sweet and there is tons of open source code for it. Flash, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver are mad fast!

"Jaw-Dropping, Rock-Solid, Feature-Filled Operating System"
Pros: Beautiful, simply beautiful OS! Loads of useful features, Much more secure than that 'other' popular OS : ), Easy to use
Cons: Might make more sense to wait a little bit more for Tiger (10.4), Easier and greater linux support would be great!, Expensive if not bought with a Mac, Doesn't run on PCs

"Good Value if upgrading from 10.1"
Pros: Panther is noticeably faster than Jaguar on an iMac SE G3 @400mhz. New finder window is easier to use despite the dark metallic look.
Cons: Not dramatically better or different to justify spending $100 on Panther if you already have Jaguar. Better to wait for the next release

"a backwards step in the mac evolution"
Pros: Expose is awesome. I've heard there is a speed increase but cannot confirm this since I have it running on a completely new computer (my wife's).
Cons: I am a huge die hard mac addict. So it pains me to say that panther is not one of Apple's shinning moments. Networking, which was very simple and reliable is Jaguar, is now difficult and unreliable. The gui has lost some of its elegance. Hopefully t
